WHO WE ARE

The All Star Wrestling Club is a USA Wrestling club based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ASWC was founded in 2012 and since then, it has continued to offer kids aged from 5 to 18 the opportunity to learn the three major types of amateur wrestling - folkstyle, freestyle and Greco Roman. Our club helps our wrestlers grow and develop under the watchful eyes of our certified coaches. At All Star, we
believe that all wrestlers, regardless of skill level, should be given the same amount of attention, with no one wrestler being treated differently from anyone else.

HOW MUCH IS IT

All Star Wrestling Club dues are $100 for the calendar year. From those dues, we provide a USA Wrestling Card which allows for the wrestler to compete in tournaments in Louisiana and around the country. The remaining balance of the fee is used to provide necessary supplies to upkeep the mat and practice area.

WHERE IS IT

The All Star Wrestling Club is located at 9324 Airline Highway, on the lot of All Star Toyota, just off the intersection of Goodwood Blvd. The building is just across the street from Royal Nissan.

WHAT ABOUT COMPETITION

At competitions, wrestlers are separated in divisions by age and by weight within those divisions. Club membership is required to compete in the tournaments. Members have their choice whether or not they wish to compete in the tournaments.

Tournaments are divided by the following age groups:

Born 2017- 2018: 8 and Under

Born 2015 - 2016 10 and Under

Born 2013 - 2014 12 and Under

Born 2011 - 2012: 14 and Under

Born 2009 - 2010: 16 and Under
Born 9/1/2005 and after, plus enrolled in high school: Junior

The USA Wrestling tournament season begins in February with several tournaments located around the state. The season ends with the Louisiana USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle State Tournament at the end of March at the Raising Cane’s River Center.

Following the folkstyle season, both freestyle and Greco Roman season begins and our wrestlers may continue to wrestle in these two types of wrestling if they so choose.

Wrestlers are weighed on Thursday nights after practice for entry in Saturday tournaments. WE DO NOT CONDONE CUTTING WEIGHT. We encourage wrestlers to compete wherever their weight qualifies them at the time of weigh-in.
